My Top 10 Data Analyst Course Recommendations for 2025

Unfortunately, the amount of data analyst courses I’ve taken that I wish I had not taken is way too high. Luckily for you though, you don’t have to go through years of trial and error of finding the best courses out there, as I’m here today to give you my top 10 data analyst course recommendations so that you can make wise choices as to where and what exactly you should learn.

I’ll divide the courses into four sections today. I’ll cover generalist, all-rounder data analyst courses first, then I’ll move on to specialist courses, then I’ll walk you through the best cloud courses, only to end with some artificial intelligence courses. So, without further ado, let’s jump into section one, the generalist all-rounder data analyst courses.

The data analyst certification by Datacamp is a great choice here. It is industry recognized and you get access to various career and skill tracks that help you prepare for the certification. Say for example, you want to level up your SQL skills, then you could just follow the associate data analyst in SQL track and learn everything from the basics all the way to exploratory data analysis and data-driven decision making in SQL.

I’ve actually been a Datacamp user for years now and have found the platform super fun and engaging to learn on with all the interactive exercises and bite-sized learnings. You can see that learners at large companies like Google, eBay, PayPal, or Uber also enjoy learning with Datacamp, so this certification and the courses that prepare you for it is a really solid choice if you’re after an all-rounder data analyst course.

Another great course to take here would be the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate. This one is certainly beginner-friendly and learning in-demand skills from Google experts is a pretty good way to learn, right? The course covers key analytical skills like data cleaning, analysis, and visualization, and tools such as spreadsheets, SQL, R, and Tableau. And upon completion, you’d get an employer-recognized certificate from Google. All in all, a good solid entry-level course.

Now, let’s move on to the specialist data analyst courses. So here, I thought I would recommend courses to you that focus on in-demand technical skills such as data visualization skills with the most popular data visualization tools available right now, Power BI and Tableau. The Data Analyst in Power BI track contains almost 20 Power BI courses that will surely take you from a beginner to a full-fledged Power BI expert.

The Data Analyst in Tableau track teaches you everything from the basics to creating dashboards, solving case studies, and even using statistical techniques in Tableau. Once you complete all of the Tableau courses, you’ll be ready to take on and pass Tableau’s Data Analyst certification. What I love about both of these courses, or I should probably say tracks as they contain many, many courses, is that given they’re provided by Datacamp, you don’t have to worry about downloading the desktop versions of Tableau or Power BI onto your computer yourself.

You can do all of the tasks and exercises within your browser as Datacamp’s platform takes care of all of the tooling for you. So you can literally just log into your profile and use Power BI or Tableau in your browser on the Datacamp platform. Such a nice feature in my opinion.

All right, next up, I’ll cover some top courses to learn cloud skills. These cloud skills are definitely becoming more and more important as so many companies are moving from on-prem to the cloud and as so many younger companies were founded in the era of the cloud and therefore have their entire data operations running in the cloud. I picked courses here where you can learn the most in-demand cloud skills.

And by most in-demand, I mean learn either AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google cloud skills as Amazon, Microsoft, and Google are the companies that dominate the market. The AWS Cloud Practitioner track on Datacamp is great for mastering the basics of Amazon web services. You’ll explore AWS’s essential services like EC2 for scalable computing, S3 for secure storage, and RDS for efficient data management.

And you’ll also learn how to optimize costs and boost performance. This track is a great preparation for the official AWS Cloud Practitioner CLF002 exam. I hold this AWS certification and it really is a great one to get into cloud computing and get a solid understanding of what AWS has to offer.

Now, if you prefer the Microsoft environment, then the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AZ900 track is the one for you. The courses included in this track will teach you all about computing, storage, and networking within the Azure ecosystem. Just like with the Power BI track, there’s a partner certification with Microsoft available here as well once you complete this track.

Datacamp co-created this track with Microsoft and you can get a 50% discount on your AZ900 certification exam. The Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals DP900 exam prep specialization course is similar to the AZ900 one, but obviously a little bit more niche and focused around data science. So if you’re into data science and want a more specific Microsoft Azure cloud course, then this is the right one for you.

You’ll learn all about database concepts in cloud environment and cloud data services. If you pass all courses, you’ll also receive a 50% off voucher for the DP900 certification exam, which again is a great offer. And last but not least, let’s not forget about Google Cloud and the Google Cloud Data Analytics Professional Certificate.

This course is great for beginners, takes only about two months to complete, and upon completion, you get the industry-recognized certificate from Google Cloud, of course. You’ll learn about generative AI and data analytics, gain a working knowledge of structuring, storing, accessing, and visualizing data using cloud tools and integrations. You’ll also learn how to use tools and platforms such as Looker and LookML, BigQuery, SQL, or Dataplex.

With AI skills on the rise, let me highlight two courses for you that are great for showing your proficiency with using AI tools and your knowledge and understanding of artificial intelligence and the role it plays in the data domain. The Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals AI 900 exam prep specialization course, quite a handful to say, on Coursera is for you if you’re already dedicated to the Microsoft environment and you’re looking to learn about the types of solution AI makes possible and the services on Microsoft Azure that you can use to create them. If you pass all courses, then you will also receive a 50% off voucher for the AI 900 certification exam.

Again, super great offer this one. The other AI course worth taking would be the AI Fundamentals on Datacamp. I completed this one recently and got my certification straight away.

I enjoyed this course a lot as the entire course was delivered in the usual interactive and engaging way with bite-sized learnings, a mixture of videos, exercises, and tasks, just like any other learning I’ve completed on Datacamp. I gained actionable knowledge on popular AI topics like chat GPT, large language models, generative AI, and much more. All in all, it was a great, short, and fun AI course.

And that’s it. These are the top 10 data analyst courses that you should take right now. You can take just one or many of these courses depending on where you are right now in your data journey and your career aspirations.

Thanks so much for taking just a little time out of your day to read this, and I shall see you in the next one.
